2020 Subaru Legacy vs. Honda Accord

  • Infotainment: The new Legacy comes with a standard 11.6-inch touchscreen display for all trim levels but the base model. The Honda Accord offers an available 8-inch touchscreen display for higher trim levels but lacks the responsiveness of the Legacy's dual-processor display.
  • Smartphone Integration: The new Legacy comes with standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, making it easy to connect to your smartphone while on the go. If you want these features for the Honda, you will have to choose above the Hybrid trim level, costing you more overall.
  • Performance: The Legacy is the clear favorite when it comes to ride comfort. Not only does the new Legacy come with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, but it provides exceptional stability and traction features like Active Torque Vectoring and Vehicle Dynamics Control. The Accord doesn't have the option of all-wheel drive and has fewer traction features available.
  • Safety: Both the Legacy and Accord earned recognition for their exceptional safety features and design. However, the Accord was named a Top Safety Pick, while the Legacy was named a Top Safety Pick Plus. The Accord's headlight options don't adequately light up the road to earn a high rating in crash avoidance and mitigation.

The 2020 Legacy vs. Toyota Camry

  • Passenger Volume: Passenger volume is essential for drivers who plan to use their midsize sedan for family driving. The Camry offers up to 100.1 cubic feet of passenger volume, but the new Legacy has the edge with 105.5 cubic feet of volume. This extra space can make all the difference for the comfort of your passengers.
  • Cargo Space: The Camry and Legacy have an identical amount of trunk space with 15.1 cubic feet of volume. However, the Legacy provides enclosed hinges so that they won't crush packages or grocery bags when shutting the trunk. Attention to small details like this set the Legacy apart from its competitors.
  • Infotainment: There's really no comparison to the 11.6-inch touchscreen of the Legacy and the standard 6-inch touchscreen of the Camry. The Legacy uses two processors to separate multimedia functions and climate control for exceptional responsiveness, while the Camry's infotainment system has dated graphics and clunky interface.
  • Safety: The Legacy and Camry are equal in the eyes of the IIHS, which granted both sedans top safety ratings as Top Safety Pick Plus titles. Both sedans come with advanced driver assistance features like pre-collision braking and adaptive cruise control. However, the Legacy offers an available DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System, while the Camry has no equivalent.

2020 Subaru Legacy vs. Nissan Altima

  • Traction and Stability: All-wheel drive is available for all trim levels of the new Altima. However, to reap the benefits of its AWD system, you will have to pay extra. The new Legacy comes with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for all its trim levels. To say both offer similar traction and stability when equipped with AWD would be missing the point. The Legacy not only offers an AWD system but also advanced features like a Traction Control System, Active Torque Vectoring, and Traction Control System for the legendary grip and control Subaru is known for.
  • Engine Power: The Altima offers slightly more torque on its standard engine option with 178 pound-feet of torque to the Legacy model's 176 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to the upper-level engine options, the Legacy outclasses the Altima with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque to the Altima's 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque.
  • Safety: The new Altima was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick, but the Legacy takes the lead with its IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus title. The Legacy offers better visibility with its available steering responsive LED headlights that light up corners more effectively. The Altima also lacks some safety features that you will find standard for the Legacy, like high beam assist, lane keep assist, and pre-collision braking.
  • Infotainment: The Altima comes with an impressive 8-inch touchscreen, as well as features like Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® connectivity. Not only does the new Legacy come with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® connectivity, but it also adds standard voice control and an available 11.6-inch touchscreen display.
